Enjoy time with your horse or pony & have fun at the same time!

The Rye Fox West Summer Camp Program is offered in two formats:

1) Equestrian Basics Camp for the beginner through the intermediate rider. Ages 8 & up. Some riding and handling of horses required. Grooming, leading and restraining horses, tacking up, caring for equipment, veterinary care and basic riding skills are taught. Extra curricular activities include arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, tack shop visits, guest speakers and water activities. Each camp session ends the week with a "Show Off Day" for family and friends. BBQ lunch to follow for everyone!

2) Advanced Eventing Camp for the intermediate to the advanced rider. Ages 12 & up. Advanced grooming techniques for showing (braiding, mane pulling, trimming), veterinary support care for injuries and colics, wrapping, use of different equipment for applications in dressage and jumping, dressage basics (suppleness, lateral work, understanding the dressage test), show jumping (gymnastic/grid work, understanding balance & lead changes for jumping, advanced course riding design), and cross country jumping (interval strength training the horse, exposing horse to unusual solid obstacles encountered on course - water, ditches, banks, light-to-dark, etc.). Week of camp ends with attending a local Horse Trials competition.
